Working with members of the Carnegie Community Centre, we are exploring ways to make the building a safe, welcoming, and empowering space for Urban Indigenous people, particularly in the Downtown Eastside (DTES).

Through a series of planned consultation sessions with various community groups, we hope to develop strategies for ‘Indigenizing’ the space at various scales so that all members of the DTES community, regardless of where they are from, will feel welcome.
