carnegie community centre

Vancouver, BC

The Carnegie Community Centre, pivotal in Vancouver’s Downtown East side (DTES), provides essential services catering to vulnerable demographics, including housing aid, food security, and healthcare. It fosters community connections and access to resources.

Collaborating with the Centre, NBA focused on enhancing its environment for urban indigenous residents. The aim was to create a safer, more empowering space, setting a precedent for updates in Vancouver and beyond. Through extensive community consultation, we developed inclusive strategies focused on welcoming the urban indigenous community, but ensuring all DTES members feel embraced.
